About the Role

Join BAE Systems as a Technical Project Manager, where you'll leverage your Navy background to support the Fleet Service Engineering business area. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the success of Fleet Support Engineering (FSE) assessments, managing projects, and providing technical guidance to teams. This position is based in Southern Maryland, with a requirement to reside within daily commuting distance of Saint Inigoes, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Develop work breakdown structures and plan of action and milestone schedules for FSE assessments.
  • Review project status, manage budgets, and prepare status reports.
  • Assess issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Assist Project Leads with planning, resource management, budgeting, and technical operations for CONUS and OCONUS projects.
  • Provide analytical and technical guidance to project teams.
  • Provide progress reports for shipboard and local activities.
  • Assist in directing day-to-day tasks of lower-level employees.
  • Coordinate and perform IFF system assessments (ALOA’s, CSSQT’s, MCAs) as required.
  • Support Fleet Modernization Program with IFF system upgrades on Navy ships or land-based sites.
  • Answer On Board Technical Assistance (OBTA) calls.

Requirements

  • Willingness to travel 10-25% for shipboard/shore-based system installations and test events.
  • Ability to exert frequent physical energy, including climbing aloft for antenna inspections and lifting/carrying heavy objects.
  • Occasional work in disagreeable environmental conditions and overtime/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical, Business, Computer Science, or IT and 4+ years of related experience, OR Associate degree and 6+ years, OR High School diploma and 8+ years.
  • NEC 1571 (V06B), NEC 1572 (V07B), or equivalent AN/UPX-29(V) IFF System experience.
  • Professionalism, leadership, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, across all stakeholder levels.
  • Ability to initiate, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to climb aloft U.S. Navy vessels and lift/carry heavy objects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience troubleshooting complex, interconnected electronics systems in a U.S. Navy Combat Systems shipboard environment.
  • PMP Certification.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $97,008 - $164,914. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications.
