Tech Ops Engineer Intern - Fall 2026, AWS Data Center Commissioning

About the role

Amazon internships are full-time positions, requiring 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, with specific team norms around working hours communicated by managers. Interns must not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the Amazon workday. Applications are accepted for all Tech Ops Engineer Intern roles across multiple US locations, including Dallas, TX, Herndon, VA, Atlanta, GA, Umatilla, OR, and Jeffersonville, OH.

Responsibilities

• Part of a creative, efficient team tasked with designing, building, and operating Amazon data center facilities.
• Identify areas for improvement and act on data provided from other teams and organizations.
• Design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges.
• Work independently and within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Scope of projects includes improving electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems.

Requirements

• Enrolled in an academic program physically located in the United States.
• Knowledge of Power Systems, Fluid Dynamics, or Thermodynamics.
• Experience using a variety of web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.
• Age 18 or older.
• Commit to 12 weeks of internship.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems.
• Experience with AI/ML technologies.
• Prior relevant internship experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.

Benefits
