Tech Lead Engineer

About the role
As a Tech Lead Engineer, you are a senior technical leader responsible for driving the successful execution of Elite’s product and platform roadmap. You combine deep hands-on engineering expertise with strong technical leadership, guiding architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and ensuring high standards across the software development lifecycle. This role requires someone who is execution-oriented, quality-driven, and passionate about building scalable, secure, cloud-native SaaS solutions in a high-performing environment.
This role is remote and requires the individual to be based in the U.S. across flexible time zones.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for complex, high-impact initiatives, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with product and business objectives.
- Lead system and component-level architecture design in partnership with engineers and architects.
- Own end-to-end technical execution for key projects, from design through delivery, proactively managing risks and dependencies.
- Translate high-level designs into well-scoped tasks, estimates, and implementation plans.
- Design, implement, and evolve cloud-native architectures using modern patterns (microservices, event-driven systems, API-first design), technologies, and tools.
- Set and enforce high engineering standards through code reviews, CI/CD, testing, TDD, observability, and DevOps practices.
- Build, prioritize, and manage technical debt and drive performance, scalability, and reliability improvements using data-driven insights.
- Mentor and coach engineers, fostering strong engineering judgment, collaboration, ownership, continuous learning, and skill development.
- Partner closely with Product Managers, UX, QA, Security, and Infrastructure teams to deliver solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Clearly communicate technical trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support alignment between product priorities and technical execution, ensuring predictable, high-quality delivery.
- Remain deeply hands-on, contributing with high-quality, production-ready code for critical components and complex problem areas.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, applying strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt modern technologies and tools that improve system reliability and team effectiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of professional software development experience building complex, scalable business applications.
- Expert-level proficiency in the Microsoft stack, including C# / .NET Core and Angular.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including Durable Functions, App Services, Event Hubs, API Management, Azure AD, Key Vault, Blob Storage, AKS, and Service Fabric.
- Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful APIs (including ODATA).
- Deep experience with CI/CD pipelines (YAML), Git, Azure DevOps or GitHub, and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong database experience with SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB, including performance tuning and scalability.
- Vast experience with automated testing frameworks, TDD, and quality-driven development practices.
- Excellent familiarity with a variety of automation concepts – unit, integration, end-to-end testing, as well as enforcement of testing best practices for full-stack applications.
- Familiarity with ERP, financial, or mission-critical SaaS platforms is a strong plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, data-driven approach.
- Strong communication and influence skills, with the ability to lead through expertise rather than authority.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a demonstrated commitment to engineering excellence and professional growth.
- Ability to travel up to 10% as business needs require.
- Role requires the following physical capacity: Sedentary – primarily desk/computer work.

Work Arrangement
This role follows a flexible remote work model, allowing you to work from a location within your home country that best suits your needs. Elite’s corporate offices are located in New York City, Los Angeles, Costa Rica, and the Philippines, offering hybrid work options if preferred. The team spans the U.S., Canada, U.K., Costa Rica, the Philippines, and Australia. Note that this role is not available in Quebec, Ontario, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Louisiana, or Oklahoma.
