About the role

In this role, you will provide dedicated technical ink support to our valued customers in [insert overage areas]. You'll be pivotal in identifying and addressing the technical and continuous improvement needs of our assigned customers, ensuring the seamless delivery of our products and services.

Responsibilities

• Leads and participates in process improvement initiatives with customers and Sun employees, dedicating significant time and Sun Chemical resources to support major operational improvement projects including press throughput, decreased color down time, inventory, and work-off management, and print quality improvements.
• Participates regularly with end-use customers to provide expertise for successful graphic campaign changes and launches, and to provide expertise in job planning.
• Makes product selection decisions in accordance with Product Management based on end-use application and conducts appropriate trial-related activities.
• Conducts research to develop custom products, coordinates with internal product management to define product recommendations, and provides fitness-for-use guidance aligned with end-use application, required specifications, and customer process.
• Supplies training needs to customer employee base, especially where it pertains to performance of ink blending, inventory, work-off, and other basic functions of in-house ink blending.
• Reports field activity within the reporting tool (salesforce.com), completes technical call reports and trial reports as needed, including both internal and external documentation.
• Submits and follows up on regional color match lab requests.
• Provides emergency backfill support for our products in case of sudden loss of customer-supplied blending.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of ink industry experience.
• Experience with Kepner Tregoe, Six Sigma, SunMatch.
• Industry laboratory and press equipment experience.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects.
• High-level pressroom and printing process knowledge.

Pay

$78,560 – $117,840

Schedule

1st shift, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

Travel

70% and overnight, including air/flight
