Responsibilities
- Set up all automatic, semi-automatic and hand operated machines to ensure all products produced meet quality specifications.
- Maintain complex and high-speed production lines by troubleshooting, testing, adjusting, calibrating, and replacing parts.
- Interpret plant priorities and respond to and escalate issues as necessary.
- Oversee shift preventive maintenance as directed by the maintenance planner.
- Create work orders and notifications and close PM work orders on time after completing PM tasks.
- Provide training and support for the production floor.
- Coach and train mechanics and assist them with safety, quality, troubleshooting, and improvement initiatives.
- Work with engineering to make recommendations for modifying equipment.
- Schedule work and requisition materials as required.
- Assist the team leader in planning and controlling the quality and quantity of production.
- Ensure product quality meets specifications and proper documentation is completed.
- Inform the team leader of machine problems or other causes of production stoppages.
- Observe all plant safety standards and perform job safety analyses.
- Follow lock-out procedures.
- Routinely check equipment in a proactive manner for quality and operational issues.
- Work with electrical controls programmers/technicians in various areas for troubleshooting and project work.
- Work with minimal supervision and provide coverage to the plant by working shift schedules as required.
- Communicate daily events, projects, etc., to peers and appropriate leaders and maintain a favorable rapport with engineering, maintenance, and production associates.
