TEARING LINE OPERATOR - 3rd Shift (Dalton, Georgia, United States, 30720)

About the role
Responsible for operating four different machines: Tearing Line #1, Tearing Line #2, Balers, and Blend Line.
- Monitor quality of the fiber that is being torn by the two tearing lines.
- Monitor the levels of fiber in the finished fiber bins (two bins for each of the two card lines).
- Maintain cleanliness in your area, including machines, at all times.
- When all finished bins are full, run the fiber to the balers to be baled. Bales are tied with ropes, and the bale ticket number is recorded on the Bale production sheet.
- Store bales in the warehouse for future use.
- Break down machines when problems arise and work with maintenance to troubleshoot.
- Cover all tasks alone when the other operator is on break.
Responsibilities
- Drive a lift truck.
- Maintain a detailed downtime report (requires basic writing and math skills).
