About the Role
This Food and Beverage Supervisor role provides first-level supervision and operational support to the Starbucks location within Hersheypark, the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania. As a full-time team member, you’ll oversee daily operations while enjoying sweet perks like free admission to Hersheypark, discounts, and more.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and facilitate F&B operations for Starbucks, ensuring adherence to all Starbucks brand standards and regulations.
- Provide on-the-spot training, coaching, leadership, and instruction to Starbucks Baristas, including Barista First 30, food safety, register use, and guest service.
- Assign team members to appropriate positions, ensuring proper breaks, supplies, and operational needs throughout shifts.
- Ensure strict adherence to Child Labor Laws and report potential violations to direct supervisors.
- Oversee the Starbucks operation’s opening and closing times as established by business needs and management guidance.
- Monitor stand appearance (inside and outside, including dining room and patio) to ensure cleanliness and organization.
- Oversee food preparation and beverage recipes, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and quality products per federal, state, and company policies.
- Monitor daily financial results and report issues or concerns to management.
- Control expenses through effective staffing, waste monitoring, and resource management.
- Maintain appropriate food preparation levels based on projected business and weather conditions.
- Maintain equipment properly and report issues to supervisors or maintenance staff for correction.
- Provide first-line support to guests with issues or concerns and escalate as needed.
- Assist managers with inventory procedures and seasonal event set-ups or themed projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a coffee house setting.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
- Completion of high school or GED.
- Post-employment certifications required: ServSafe Allergen, ServSafe Manager, RAMP, and Barista Certifications.
Skills
- Proven guest relations, problem-solving, task management, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Child Labor Law regulations.
- Ability to display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and maintain a professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines.
- Strong leadership skills, including setting clear goals, fostering a positive environment, recognizing achievements, and empowering team members through development.
- Ability to manage daily operations, ensure open communication, and build a cohesive, high-performing team.
Job Demands
- Frequent reaching forward (34-66%), lifting (up to 25 lbs), reaching overhead, finger dexterity, hand/eye coordination, stooping, and bending.
- Constant standing and walking (>67%).
- Occasional climbing stairs, sitting, and exposure to extreme cold (temperatures below 32°F for periods over one hour).
- Visual ability to operate moving equipment (e.g., golf carts) and perform detailed work at close distances (e.g., computer screens, measurement devices).
- Substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Exposure to noise levels requiring shouting to be heard above ambient noise.
- Activities occur both inside and outside, with no effective protection from weather conditions.
