About the role
The role of a Food Service Team Leader at Target involves leading a team of hourly team members to ensure a consistent guest experience, manage workload, and adhere to food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver guest experience commitments and maintain consistent operations.
- Observe and provide feedback to team members, hold them accountable, and recognize great moments.
- Review and plan daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and achieve sales goals.
- Assign tasks to team members based on workload and guest traffic patterns.
- Assess and maintain food safety and inventory levels.
- Lead team to uphold and maintain brand standards and production specifications.
- Ensure accurate in-stock levels by placing store-initiated orders and managing perishable inventory.
- Follow proper food safety procedures and monitor temperature-sensitive items.
- Validate and follow up on team members' progress against department checklists and routines.
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up, and drive-up operations.
- Support merchandise protection strategies and assist with incident response.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong interest and knowledge of the food service business.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
Qualifications

Pay
The starting pay range for this position per hour is $25.50 - $27.50. The full pay range is $25.50 - $43.35, based on several factors including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
Schedule
The role requires a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days, and shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
