Team Manager-Production

About the role

In this position, you will be responsible for depth and breadth across all shifts and crews within a department. You will deliver all department scorecard objectives, own processes (e.g., constraint management/VRT), drive standardization across all workstations, plan change, identify continuous improvement opportunities, and serve as a change agent to implement the Ford Production System.

Responsibilities

• Confirm standards are in place and monitor adherence to manufacturing operating system standards throughout the plant.
• Develop, coach, and support teams to achieve SQDCPME (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, Environment) objectives.
• Support issues raised by teams, coach and provide feedback on resolution of abnormalities, and validate closure of concerns, including interim containment actions.
• Provide necessary resources to maintain production flow and ensure critical inputs are performed to acceptable standards.
• Plan maintenance tasks, monitor completion and effectiveness, and drive improvement or coaching opportunities.
• Enable a culture of learning through effective communication and respect for all team members.
• Create a conducive work environment for teams to complete assigned responsibilities and foster a Zero Tolerance environment for disrespect.
• Build a proactive, performance-driven culture that emphasizes communication, education, listening, and trust.
• Proactively recognize team accomplishments to improve morale.
• Ensure completion of administrative responsibilities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Production experience.
• Strong ability to interface with plant hourly, salaried personnel, and plant management.
• Ability to present in front of plant management and teach Ford Production System principles.
• Union negotiations experience.
• Competence in using data for decision-making.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate excellent leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve diverse problems.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage crises.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Broad production experience.
• Lead Process Coach experience.
• 6-sigma designation preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and quick decision-making capability.
• Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook).

This position is a leadership salary grade 6. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
