Team Leader - RN - Perioperative

About the Role

The RN Team Leader in the Operating Room manages daily surgical operations within the orthopedic service line, serving as a clinical and operational leader. This position requires proficiency in circulating and scrub perioperative nursing, with advanced clinical expertise and leadership abilities. The role involves managing surgical workflow across multiple specialties, including neurosurgery, vascular, thoracic, and robotics, within a 24/7 Level II Trauma Center.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support surgical workflows to optimize case flow, reduce delays, and ensure timely first-case starts.
• Participate in audits, quality initiatives, and implement evidence-based practices specific to orthopedic surgery.
• Communicate equipment, supply, or process concerns to leadership and assist in improvement planning.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years RN Operating Room experience.
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Maryland RN license, BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred.
