About the role
Halff has an immediate opening for a Public Works Team Lead (P.E.) to work from our Frisco, TX office. The selected individual will be responsible for the growth and success of Public Works design, planning and related services within the area, including team management and performance, business development, client relationships, and project delivery. This position will have a large amount of autonomy in managing a team of 7+ professional engineers and engineers-in-training.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing, developing, and overseeing public works in North Texas.
- Work collaboratively with other local teams in Fort Worth, Richardson, Dallas, and Tyler.
- Manage team performance (production, profitability, quality, staffing, etc.).
- Maintain and further develop client relationships throughout Texas including multiple cities and counties.
- Identify business opportunities and lead the successful pursuits.
- Directly manage projects and oversee project managers on various projects.
- Value and be active in professional organizations that benefit the Public Works industry.
- Work closely with other Halff leaders and manage resources to successfully workshare across the company on multiple projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas, or transferable within 6 months.
- 10+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure design.
- Strong business relationships and a passion for growth and development.
- Experience in project scope development, professional services fee development and staffing projects.
- Experience in producing winning project proposals as lead professional/project manager.
- Strong ability to train and mentor staff.
- Must be proficient in project management, administration, and supervision.
- Ability to work in a team environment with multiple offices and various disciplines.
- Positive attitude, self-directed.
Qualifications
- Strong design and project management experience and knowledge of working with local entities (preferably in DFW area).
- Projects include roadways, drainage systems, water and wastewater pipelines, civil site work and associated civil improvements in municipal site development as well as parks and trails facilities.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.
- Good technical writing and communication skills.
- Additional experience in Transportation and/or Land Development preferred.
