Team Leader

About the Role

The Team Leader is responsible for supporting Store leadership, delivering Legendary Service, coaching Team Members, and owning assigned sales-floor presentation areas. In the updated operating model, Team Leaders are expected to be top-selling Team Members with clear ownership of Power Panels, Clipstrips, Endcaps, Clothing recovery, and assigned BOPIS/OMNI support based on store needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including working scheduled shifts and varied hours as dictated by business needs.
• Uphold and promote a safe and productive work environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Deliver Legendary Service and reinforce Leading with Legendary behaviors through Customer engagement, Team Member coaching, and accountability for execution.
• Use A+ Coaching routines to develop Team Members, improve selling behaviors, and reinforce consistent operating standards.
• Own Power Panel execution, maintenance, replenishment, signing, and recovery.
• Own Clipstrip execution, maintenance, replenishment, signing, and recovery.
• Own Endcap execution, maintenance, signing, and recovery.
• Own full weekly Clothing Department recovery, including assigned standards and follow-up.
• Support BOPIS/OMNI execution, including picking, staging, Customer handoff, and follow-up as assigned.
• Lead assigned Team Members during shifts, including task delegation, follow-up, service expectations, and safe work practices.
• Support front-end, sales-floor, recovery, and Customer engagement routines as assigned by the Store Manager or Sales Manager.
• Operate cash register/computer, forklift, and other equipment as needed; assist customers with loading purchases.
• Complete all documentation associated with job duties accurately and timely.
• Obtain necessary licenses or certifications as required by the business.

Requirements

• Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
• Ability to perform and execute principal responsibilities of Team Members.

Working Conditions

• Generally working inside with moderate noise.
• Work shifts vary, but generally no less than 4 hours and may exceed 10 hours.
• Indoor floors and outdoor lots are hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.) with adequate lighting and temperature.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move and transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper equipment.
• Ability to occasionally lift or reach merchandise overhead.
• Ability to frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
• Ability to move throughout the store for an entire shift.
• Ability to safely access all areas of the store.
• Ability to operate store equipment (e.g., dolly, hand truck, forklift, baler, computer, cash register).
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately.
• Ability to handle and be in contact with birds/poultry.
• Ability to complete required training and certifications.
