Responsibilities
- Supervises the installation and any necessary operation and maintenance of underground distribution cables, plus associated facilities.
- Supervises the installation and any necessary operation and maintenance of all underground connected transformers, switchgear, and other general power distribution equipment.
- Supervises the installation and necessary maintenance of conduit lines, manholes, transformer vaults, and other subgrade equipment required for single phase and three phase underground electric services.
- Evaluates employee’s job performance and progress, reviews evaluation with employee, and recommends employee promotions and disciplinary action.
- Conducts fact-finding investigations and answers first-step grievances.
- Conducts tailgate sessions on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Ensures that all established departmental construction standards, procedures, and safety rules are properly adhered to.
- Maintains employee records (e.g., off-duty, attendance, overtime, progressive disciplinary action, etc.).
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis is required.
- 5+ years experience within the Electric Distribution overhead and underground systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Above-average interpersonal skills.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of electrical and mechanical principles associated with the construction, maintenance, and operation of electric transmission and distribution systems.
