Team Leader, Metering Services
About the role
The Team Leader (Warehouse) – Metering Services is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and supply chain operations that support Metering Services. This position provides direct leadership to warehouse personnel while ensuring efficient procurement, storage, inventory control, asset management, and distribution of metering equipment and materials.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and directions to warehouse and inventory personnel.
- Assign, prioritize, and monitor daily work activities to ensure operational objectives are met.
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a role model for company values and leadership behaviors.
- Oversee the receipt, storage, tracking, and distribution of meters, communication devices, and related metering equipment.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, reconciliations, and physical inventories.
- Manage asset tracking and documentation utilizing Maximo and other inventory management systems.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to maintain material availability.
- Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures, asset management standards, and company policies.
- Support Meter Shop, Engineering, and Field Metering operations by ensuring timely availability of materials and equipment.
- Cook up logistics and material resources for AMI, MDM, and other metering-related initiatives.
- Partner with Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to support business needs.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, productivity, and service levels.
- Analyze operational performance and recommend solutions to improve workflow and resource utilization.
- Promote and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct worksite observations and support a strong safety culture.
- Participate in storm restoration, emergency response, and business continuity efforts as required.
- Support after-hours operational needs during emergencies, major projects, or system events.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Five (5) years of experience in Supply Chain Management, warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, utility operations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience as a Team Lead, Supervisor, Coordinator, or senior operations employee.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, asset management, and warehouse operations.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting utility metering operations, Meter Services, or AMI programs.
- Experience working with enterprise asset management or inventory systems such as Maximo.
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management and material planning processes.
- Forklift certification or previous warehouse equipment experience.
Qualifications

Working Conditions
- Ability to work in both warehouse and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks (training provided if necessary).
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Availability to work overtime, after-hours assignments, and emergency situations as business needs dictate.
Emergency Response Requirement
This position is designated as storm-duty eligible and requires participation in emergency response and restoration efforts. Incumbents must be available to support business operations during major events, outages, weather emergencies, and other situations requiring operational readiness.
