Job Summary
The Housing Team Leader oversees the Housing Team that supports Trilogy’s scattered-site housing programs. Key responsibilities include managing a caseload, coordinating housing efforts, supervising staff, and securing safe and affordable housing for clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct housing assistance to a caseload of clients, including apartment viewings, lease negotiation, and signing.
- Support staff with client caseloads and assist as needed.
- Provide individual and group supervision to team members, offering feedback and ensuring quality service delivery.
- Lead and facilitate team meetings to enhance communication and collaboration.
- Develop and conduct trainings and informational sessions to support teams and clients.
- Aid in onboarding new employees and ongoing training to provide quality services.
- Assist in administrative leadership processes such as performance reviews, disciplinary actions, interviews, and hiring decisions.
- Ensure clients are added to city and state referral lists for subsidized housing.
- Use knowledge of housing laws to support teams and clients with tenant advocacy.
- Prepare and report information to leadership regarding housing barriers and challenges.
- Identify and implement creative solutions to improve client housing outcomes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with landlords and management companies.
- Participate in relevant trainings and sessions to build knowledge of housing practices.
Qualifications
- One of the following: GED or High School Diploma, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- Supervisory/leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working in social services and/or housing administration preferred.
- Experience with housing, case management, and social services with people who have mental health and/or substance abuse diagnoses.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to interact with a diverse group of internal/external stakeholders.
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License with daily access to a vehicle and $100,000/$300,000 auto liability insurance.
