Principle Accountabilities
- Provide a full range of leadership duties, including, but not limited to:
- Select and train team members.
- Build teamwork and effectiveness by coordinating team-building activities, assisting in department meetings to ensure open lines of communication and alignment with the agency's strategic goals, policy, and procedure.
- Provide team members with ongoing feedback, coaching, counseling, and performance management through field coaching, problem-solving sessions, and one-to-one meetings.
- Serve as a role model for all team members, demonstrating positive attitude, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
- Attend all team meetings, providing feedback and solutions, as applicable, to quality program development. Take notes at team meetings as needed and assist in program evaluation as requested.
- Monitor narrative documentation for content to ensure accreditation, funding, and Medicaid compliance.
- Fill in as first in line, Direct Support Professional/Program Coordinator, to meet client needs as necessary. Provide scheduling support to team members and clients daily as needed.
- Advocate and/or assist clients in receiving services that were identified in the planning process.
- Work collaboratively with staff and community members to plan social opportunities for clients and the team.
- Assist in recruitment, assessment, and evaluation of Hourly SCL clients.
- Attend outside meetings as Easterseals representative as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field /or relevant experience preferred
- Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
- Experience with leadership and training preferred.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid within the first 90 days.
- Ability to complete Mandatory Reporter of Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within the first 30 days.
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members, clients, and the public in a professional manner.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively solve problems and handle emergencies.
- Ability to work under pressure, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Ability to operate a computer and navigate through the Easterseals database.
- Experience in word processing software; Word and Excel preferred.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours as required, including weekends and evenings.
- Must be insurable under Easterseals Iowa vehicle insurance policy.
- Possession of a valid Iowa driver’s license and maintenance of a good driving record.
- Access to Reliable Transportation for regular participation in work.
- Access to a telephone for on-call needs
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of HCBS funding streams.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and lift
- Ability to transfer or move up to 80 pounds.
