Essential QUEST Duties And Responsibilities
- Holds team members accountable for providing best in class product quality.
- Trains team members on maximizing the usefulness of the equipment provided, using tools efficiently, and understanding the impact proper use has on all stakeholders.
- Fosters an environment where team members communicate effectively, are devoted to their jobs, are committed to the organization’s goals and values, and put effort into their workplace relationships with other team members.
- Edits safety protocols and educates team members on proper safety protocols to perform tasks in the safest manner possible.
- Motivates team members to complete job assignments and tasks efficiently.
Technical Duties And Responsibilities
- Inspects parts using multiple measuring devices to ensure product quality is within specification.
- Examines company records to include blueprints, process documentation, technical publications etc. to secure such information as it relates to product quality tests.
- Performs Work in Process inspections on all aspects of the manufacturing process.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Interprets specifications and job orders to team members and assigns or assists in assigning duties.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or team members.
- Coordinates activities of individual departments.
- Resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Carries out team leader responsibilities in accordance with Miller's organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Verifies specifications/measurements.
- Reads parts list.
- Reads and understands blueprints.
Education And Experience
3-5 years as a lead person or associate working in the department, or possess the equivalent combination of job relevant certifications, education, and experience. Must be willing to pursue continuing education/learning opportunities.
Essential Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Required to stand, walk, climb, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Frequently required to use fingers, hands, and arms to handle and reach.
- Must frequently lift and/or move 5-30lbs.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required to work four 10-hour days, occasionally working 40+ hours/week as business demands.
- Able to wear protective gear due to fumes or airborne particles.
- Able to frequently be exposed to flashing lights.
- Must occasionally be exposed to weather conditions such as: precipitation, extreme cold and extreme heat.
Work Environment
- Regularly required to wear hearing protection in a loud environment.
