About the Role
Under the supervision of the assigned Director or District Manager, the Goodwill Good Neighbor Center (GGC) Team Leader in Charge (TLC) is responsible for all aspects of operating a GGC to ensure efficient, cost-effective operations and stewardship, maximizing profitability and increasing training opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Ensures and provides open and honest communication to prevent harm to team members, donors, or customers.
- Communicates and supports Goodwill’s drug-free workplace, maintaining a positive work environment aligned with Goodwill’s Core Values and Guiding Principles.
- Upholds Goodwill’s zero tolerance for harassment, substance abuse, workplace violence, failure to report medical incidents, theft, and related offenses.
- Delivers 100% world-class customer service.
- Hires, trains, develops, supervises, and evaluates team members within Goodwill policies and procedures and job descriptions.
- Develops, trains, and supervises Assistant Team Leaders (ATLs) to perform duties outlined in this position description, preparing them for future TLC roles.
- Operates the GGC within budgeted expense-to-revenue ratios and donor value.
- Ensures proper handling and processing of donations in accordance with Goodwill policies and procedures.
- Schedules and maintains labor and payroll in compliance with Goodwill policies.
- Oversees image, maintenance, loss prevention, safety, and security of the GGC per GISEFL policies.
- Manages ordering and securing of supplies and Goodwill property within budget.
- Responsible for cash handling, comment cards, monthly safety site inspections, incident/accident reports, petty cash, expense reports, purchase orders, and supply orders.
- Completes and submits the following reports accurately and timely:
- Quarterly PLU Reports and analysis
- Team Meeting Minutes
- Transfer and Rotation Report (TANDR)
- Weekly Scheduler (two weeks in advance for all team members)
- WESA Reports
- Work requests (Facility Maintenance and Information Support)
- Maintains compliance with Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facility (CARF) standards.
- Stays informed of product knowledge, industry trends, and competitive pricing through comparative shopping.
- Performs duties within the framework of Goodwill’s Guiding Principles and Core Values.
- Attends in-service and related training as assigned by Operations Leadership.
- May participate in activities outside of Goodwill as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Operations Leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of management/supervisory experience in a business (retail) setting preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements
- Able to bend, reach, and stand for extensive periods and lift up to 40 pounds (may lift heavier items with assistance).
- Performs tasks requiring repetitive motion, such as tagging or hanging clothes.
- Manual dexterity is required.
Schedule
- Available to open the store a minimum of two times per week (mandatory at least once per week).
- Available to close the store at least twice per week (mandatory at least once per week).
- Approves payroll every payroll Monday.
- Works a minimum of two Saturdays per month.
Special Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation.
- This position is safety-sensitive and requires drug testing.
- May require access to facility keys and alarm systems.
