Team Lead Specimen Collector -1652

About the role

The Lead Specimen Collector plays a crucial role at Millennium Health, an accredited specialty laboratory focused on medication monitoring and drug testing services. This position involves collecting and processing patient specimens, interacting with patients and clinicians, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid (saliva) specimens
• Process and package collections or shipping
• Serve as an intermediary between the practice / clinic and the laboratory
• Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in ordering portal
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite
• Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens (when applicable)
• Perform audits on established internal processes (i.e. workflows)
• Act as a subject matter expert, answering questions and addressing concerns
• Provide support and training to new and existing team members
• Drive from/to multiple facilities may be required
• Overnight stays for coverage may be required

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience as a specimen collector or 2+ years of customer service experience in the medical field
• Demonstrated ability to navigate a smartphone and computer
• Valid driver’s license
• Medical insurance/billing and/or familiarity with medications/diagnostic codes (optional but beneficial)
• Ability to ensure HIPAA, HiTrust, Confidentiality and Compliance policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to
• Ability to ensure administrative, physical and technical cyber security controls are adhered to
• High School diploma or equivalent

Pay

$22-25/hr. Salary offered is dependent on qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 5am-2pm
