Team Lead Shipping

SUMMARY

Leads and coordinates activities of team of workers by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides leadership to ensure employees demonstrate appropriate work skills, technical accuracy, efficiency and conformity to company policies.
• Regularly monitors each team member’s adherence to safe work practices and Company’s safety policies as well as all quality policies and procedures.
• Mets with leader to determine work priorities and adjusts work activities accordingly.
• Cross trains team members to increase capabilities of the team, meeting customer requirements and for individual employment development.
• Serves as contact person for other Leaders to answer questions or concerns affecting multiple departments, such as Purchasing, Production, Safety, and Quality.
• Relays and shares information with employees and other departments in a timely manner. Schedules meetings with staff and attends meetings with other departments to ensure optimum communication.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Spends a reasonable percentage of time focused on efficiency.
• Works side by side with team approximately 50-75% of work time.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma preferred.
• College level courses in business, finance, economics, statistics, manufacturing, logistics, or related helpful.
• Minimum of 2 years of logistics experience preferred.
• Familiarity with all Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Strong self-initiative.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strict confidentiality in dealing with sensitive, private information.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work relatively independently with supervision available to address non-routine questions.
• Willingness to participate in a team environment to achieve departmental and organizational goals and objectives.
• Able to assess situations, prioritize, re-prioritize and make appropriate decisions.
• Mechanical aptitude beneficial.
• Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours to meet business needs.
