Team Lead, Server Engineering
About the role
The Team Lead Server Engineering is responsible for planning and leading the Server Engineering team in the research and implementation of new systems as well as the support of existing systems. They also lead technology projects involving servers, SAN, monitoring and patch management systems. Additionally, they develop technical recommendations to improve the technology environment and meet corporate strategic goals. They ensure the production technology environment is available and performing as expected, and plan and lead efforts to improve the business recovery environment, including participating in semi-annual business recovery tests.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead the Server Engineering team in the research and implementation of new systems and support of existing systems.
- Lead technology projects involving servers, SAN, monitoring and patch management systems.
- Develop technical recommendations to improve the technology environment and meet corporate strategic goals.
- Ensure the production technology environment is available and performing as expected.
- Plan and lead efforts to improve the business recovery environment, including participating in semi-annual business recovery tests.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math or related field or equivalent experience required.
- 8+ years’ experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems and in supporting server related infrastructure and software.
- Experience in leading technology related projects.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Windows Active Directory.
- Thorough understanding of current networking technologies, security administration, and backup & disaster recovery technologies and solutions.
- Proficient in use of LAN technologies and current corporate standard desktop productivity applications as well as project management and visual documentation tools.
