Team Lead Registered Nurse - General Med/Surg - RN

About the role

The Team Lead Registered Nurse (RN) - General Med/Surg position is responsible for overseeing a team of nurses in a general medical/surgical unit. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the nursing team, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to nursing staff.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk management activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Minnesota.
• At least 3 years of progressive nursing experience, preferably in a leadership role.
• Experience with patient care coordination and team management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved nursing residency program preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
