Responsibilities
- Serve as the super-user and lead in a facility setting.
- Perform diversified duties in support of the Patient Access department, including, but not limited to, providing leadership and direction to assigned personnel.
- Create positive relationships and excellent patient experience throughout the facility including but not limited to patient arrival and registration process.
- Ensure coverage for quality registration 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, thought out the facility.
- Maintain quality data to hold staff accountable to department metrics and standards.
- Ensure optimal reimbursement through accurate registration, insurance verification and upfront collections.
- Act as the resource and provide education to staff.
- Maintain productivity of staff and ensure registration functions of the system are maintained as a supplement to emergency room arrival & registration.
- Oversee the expired patient process.
- Manage safe keeping of patient valuables.
Qualifications
- An Associates Degree in related field or equivalent experience is required, Bachelors degree preferred.
- Medical Terminology, Lean Training, CHAA or CHAR Certified preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in related leadership role.
- Minimum one (1) year of prior Team Lead or coaching experience required (including hiring staff, delivering corrective action, and leading employees).
- Proven proficiency with technology, including computers, software.
- Demonstrated excellent communication and organization skills, leadership experience preferred.
- Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office, an Electronic Health Record, and other web-based portals required.
- Proven proficiency with Epic registration, scheduling and billing required.
- Medical Terminology certification is preferred.
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
