Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is seeking a Team Lead - Front Storeroom (1st Shift). Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

About the role

The primary function of this role is to provide manufacturing expertise, support, and direction to the Storeroom Team. The Storeroom Team Leader will assist the Storeroom Supervision in the assignment of daily tasks to ensure all material handling processes are completed in an accurate and timely manner and to support customers. This role involves troubleshooting processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and working with internal/external customers to meet their needs. The Team Lead will also manage team training initiatives, cross-shift communications, and promote teamwork to align performance with production goals, quality standards, and customer service objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage storeroom daily functions to ensure material is organized, stored safely, and customer needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Provide motivation and encouragement to the storeroom team, ensuring awareness of workplace goals surrounding production, safety, and quality.
  • Work directly with the production team to ensure customer orders are executed efficiently, prioritizing urgent orders.
  • Comply with and enforce all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of equipment.
  • Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards.
  • Provide on-the-job training and develop individual, team, and product group skills.
  • Understand and evaluate production metrics such as cycle counts, receiving on-time, transaction accuracy, dock reports, and inspection reports.
  • Consistently check material quality to ensure supplier requirements are met.
  • Promote quality objectives by clarifying standards and goals among employees.
  • Work on projects and special assignments as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or materials processing experience.
  • Prior work experience using a computer, including competence in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Forklift experience.
  • Must reside within 50 miles of Sumter; no relocation benefit is offered.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Team Leader experience.
  • Experience with AS400, Vista, and DMM computer programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving abilities.

  • Self-starter capable of working with minimum supervision and solving problems as they arise.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of AS400, Word, and Excel.

  • Ability to manage changing schedules and work independently or in teams across plant and corporate entities.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and strong organizational skills.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to noise and frequently exposed to dust.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle and feel.
  • Frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and grip.
  • Frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds and push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination.
  • Regularly required to listen and talk.

Pay

Hourly rate: $26.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Schedule

1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
