About the role

This full-time, on-site position based in Camp Hill, PA is responsible for leading and developing a team of Business Bankers focused on the growth of business banking relationships through the delivery of loans, deposit products, and treasury management solutions. The role provides day-to-day leadership, coaching, and strategic guidance to support production goals, portfolio growth, sound credit practices, and an exceptional client experience. This position partners closely with Business Bankers and internal stakeholders to drive business development efforts, optimize performance, strengthen relationship management practices, and ensure adherence to the Bank's credit, compliance, and risk management standards. The role also supports process improvement initiatives designed to enhance efficiency, consistency, scalability, and service delivery across the business banking function.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Business Bankers in support of production goals, relationship growth, and a strong sales culture.
    • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring related to business development, calling strategies, pipeline management, cross-sell execution, and overall relationship management.
    • Support talent development through regular one-on-one meetings, performance coaching, training initiatives, and annual performance reviews.
    • Monitor team performance, sales activity, pipeline trends, and production results, providing clear feedback, accountability, and performance direction.
  • Business Development & Relationship Growth
    • Drive the growth of business banking relationships through the origination of loans, deposit accounts, and treasury management services.
    • Partner with Business Bankers to develop calling strategies, relationship expansion plans, and business development opportunities.
    • Serve as a resource for complex client relationships, escalated client concerns, and strategic business opportunities.
    • Collaborate with Treasury Management, Retail Banking, Operations, and other internal partners to deliver comprehensive financial solutions and a coordinated client experience.
  • Credit & Portfolio Management
    • Partner with Business Bankers on deal discussions, loan structuring, pricing strategies, negotiations, and exception identification to support well-structured and competitive transactions.
    • Work closely with Credit partners and other stakeholders to facilitate underwriting, approval, closing, and ongoing portfolio management activities.
    • Promote disciplined portfolio management and credit quality by reinforcing sound underwriting standards, appropriate risk identification, and adherence to established loan policies and approval guidelines.
  • Operational Excellence & Risk Management
    • Risk Governance (Three Lines of Defense)
      • Demonstrate understanding of first line of defense responsibilities and control ownership within the business banking function.
      • Identify and assess risks associated with business banking activities and ensure appropriate controls are established, executed, and monitored.
      • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Audit, and operational support teams to address issues, strengthen controls, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
      • Promote a culture of accountability by ensuring risks are managed at the point of origin and addressed proactively.
    • Process Improvement & Performance Management
      • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, service quality, consistency, and scalability.
      • Evaluate workflow effectiveness and partner with internal stakeholders to improve processes supporting client onboarding, servicing, lending, and portfolio management.
      • Analyze pipeline trends, production results, and performance metrics to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
      • Ensure adherence to applicable policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards, including loan documentation requirements and Bank Secrecy Act obligations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Banking, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of business banking, commercial banking, or related financial services experience required.
  • Previous leadership, management, or team development experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, credit analysis, portfolio management, and relationship management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, achieve production goals, and manage performance effectively.

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of business banking products and services, including commercial loans, deposit accounts, and treasury management solutions.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities, with a proven ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Strong credit acumen, including the ability to evaluate loan structure, pricing, risk, and relationship strategies.
  • Excellent relationship management and business development skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and internal stakeholders.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences while balancing growth, efficiency, and risk management objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in LoanVantage and other relevant banking and lending systems.

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and other office technology.
  • Work is performed through a combination of client interaction, team collaboration, meetings, and computer-based activities.
  • Periodic travel may be required to support client relationships, business development activities, team meetings, training, and market coverage responsibilities.

Physical Demands

  • This position requires manual dexterity and the ability to perform routine office tasks.
  • The role may require sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, or lifting files and materials as necessary.
