About the role
The Team Lead supports the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department during their shift and provides guidance to the team. This role assists with coordinating work assignments, addressing departmental issues, and ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently. The Team Lead communicates clearly with the Manager regarding any outstanding or pending issues at the end of the shift. In addition to leadership responsibilities, this position performs various repairs to resort equipment and assists with installing new equipment as required.
Responsibilities
- Administer programs involving electrical, mechanical, and general construction, repair, and maintenance of existing facilities and equipment
- Perform daily checks of the Building Automation System (JCI) and building mechanicals
- Assign and verify completion of routine maintenance and operations of physical structure, mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment
- Ensure compliance with company policy on vehicle operation
- Perform daily rounds-check of boilers, pools, common areas, sprinkler systems, fire pump room, and fire panels
- Visually inspect quality of work and direct staff and outside contractors according to performance and productivity standards
- Attend to work orders, guest requests, housekeeping requests, front desk requests, and room calls
- Ensure all inspections and certifications for property equipment are completed as required
- Maintain all facilities and operating systems in safe and efficient working order (e.g., auto doors, exit doorways, snow/garbage removal)
- Complete assigned tasks in a safe, timely manner, including lifting 20 lbs or more
- Work with outside contractors to provide necessary improvements or maintenance
- Carry ladders and tools up/down stairs (may exceed 20 lbs) and work in ceilings (e.g., leaks, electrical shorts, motor replacements)
- Maintain records of all work activities and support materials
- Provide written reports to other departments as needed
- Ensure safe disposal of all waste material
- Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles; keep work area safe and efficient
- Coordinate with other departments when directed
- Track supplies and fill out requisitions for needed items
- Maintain vehicle maintenance records and schedules
- Ensure scheduling of engineering staff meets operational needs
- Maintain all pools and hot tubs according to OSHA standards
- Order parts and items necessary for building and unit repairs
- Oversee training, counseling, and discipline of engineering staff
- Document engineering work for billing programs
- Assist with preventative maintenance in common areas, back of house, and guest rooms
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma (preferred)
- 5 years of maintenance experience (preferred)
- Ability to deal with guests in a courteous and efficient manner (required)
- Must be 21 years or older with a current driver’s license and a Motor Vehicle Report (required)
- Ability to perform all job duties and tasks as assigned
Pay
The expected pay range for this position is $24.00/hr - $35.74/hr. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Full-time, year-round position. Shift type: full-time hours available.
