Position Summary

In addition to professional/technical duties, performs collateral supervisory duties, including coaching and mentoring, collaborating with and motivating staff, leading by example, performance evaluation and development, counseling, rounding and conflict management. Responsible for the oversight of his/her assigned Team. Coordinates and collaborates with all healthcare team members for the best possible patient care experience. Delegates effectively to appropriate team members and takes responsibility for the outcome/results. Promotes and participates in activities that demonstrate the achievement of patient, customer and employee safety and satisfaction.

  • Coaches front line team members to support ongoing professional development and hardwire technical and professional capabilities.
  • Creates a high performing team by building strong relationships, delegating work and nurturing commitment and engagement.
  • Manages team conflict/issues implementing appropriate corrective actions, improvement plans and regular performance evaluations.
  • Promotes a healthy and safe culture to advance system, team and service experience.

Standard Work Duties

  • Team Lead - LPN: Actively participates in team development, achieving dashboards, and in accomplishing department goals and objectives.
  • Facilitates the achievement of department and hospital-wide quality, safety, satisfaction and stewardship goals.
  • Coaches employees and focuses on ongoing staff development.
  • Oversees the orientation of new employees, assesses the ongoing competence of all employees and conducts performance appraisals.
  • Proactively addresses issues within the team and acts to modify behavior to facilitate effective relationships and outcomes.
  • Serves as an integral member of the work team, demonstrating technical/professional competence in the job role as stated in the following:
    • Absorbs information that is essential to the successful performance of duties and responsibilities.
    • Communicate in a timely and consistent manner, ensuring a professional and respectful exchange of information and ideas.
    • Assume responsibility for adherence to personal appearance, dress and grooming standards, always portraying a professional appearance.
    • Work within the boundaries of nursing practice.
    • Proactively addresses issues of concern from members of the Medical Staff and communicates with patient.
    • Communicates effectively with the physicians, patients, families, coworkers, peers and subordinates.

Essential Qualifications

  • Current active license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Florida.
  • Graduate of an approved Practical Nursing program.
  • Must attend department specific bi-annual training.
  • Must complete LRH management training within the first six months in role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support.
