About the role

The incumbent shall be responsible for providing full range of services as a liaison between the Practice Manager, patients, physicians, insurance companies, physician offices and SGMC’s Patient Financial Services. Individual will provide supervisory and administrative support to SGMC Cardiology Clinic. The Team Coordinator will conduct counseling with patients. Will verify insurances, facilitate the accuracy and timely collection, completion and submission of all data and paperwork associated with the financial and administrative processes. The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, and problem solving and productivity enhancement. Supports and communicates SGMC’s mission, vision, values and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct counseling with patients
  • Verify insurances
  • Facilitate the accuracy and timely collection, completion and submission of all data and paperwork associated with the financial and administrative processes
  • Demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, and problem solving and productivity enhancement
  • Supports and communicates SGMC’s mission, vision, values and goals
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Business, Informatics, other financial/health care field or equivalent degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Certification in Basic Life Support required
  • Must have good computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Interest and willingness to work in health care setting with adult, geriatric, and people with physical disabilities
  • Technical/system skills/knowledge: PC and Windows literacy required; prefer knowledge or experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of insurance and managed care
  • Minimum three (3) years prior administrative experience or equivalent, preferably in a hospital or medical setting
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact with patients/families with consideration to their age, religion, cultural background, developmental level and emotional status
  • Requires flexibility in work schedule for accountability expectations for operations and process management in a customer focused business
