RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator - Cardiology
About the role
The RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator serves as a vital liaison between patients and cardiology providers in a busy outpatient practice, supporting 2–4 physicians or advanced practice providers. This hybrid role combines direct patient support, telephone triage, symptom assessment, patient education, care coordination, and follow-up management to ensure exceptional patient care. Clinical responsibilities may be based across multiple cardiology locations throughout the St. Louis region.
Position Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator supports 2–4 physicians or advanced practice providers in a busy outpatient practice, providing direct patient care, coordinating patient care, and acting as a liaison and team leader.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients; completes health history and physical examination on patients; conveys findings to physician.
- Collaborates with physicians and advanced practice providers to coordinate patient care, order diagnostic tests, convey findings to physician, attend inpatient rounds, coordinate patient appointments, and assist with referrals to outside sources.
- Aids physicians and provides support with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Maintains compliance with environmental safety regulations, infection control standards, and quality assurance protocols.
- Facilitates communication and coordination of care between patients, families, and health team members; explains routines and procedures to patients and coordinates patient care information to appropriate sources.

Education
- Required Qualifications: Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Registered Nursing; current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with the Compact Act; Basic Life Support Certification or obtain certification within one month of employment.

Salary Range
$64,500.00 - $109,900.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
