Responsibilities

  • Teaching in both the ABA Master’s Program and the undergraduate psychology program at FSU Panama City.
  • Mentoring graduate students and supervising clinical capstone studies for the ABA program.
  • Engaging in service to the ABA program, psychology program, and FSU PC campus.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, or related field with doctoral preparation in Behavior Analysis/ABA. ABD (All But Dissertation) are welcome to apply if degree completion is expected by start of the position.
  • Must be a doctoral-level behavior analyst who meets requirements for teaching in an Association for Behavior Analysis International-accredited, Verified Course Sequence program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a board-certified behavior analyst, experience in the clinical application of ABA across a variety of health-related populations (e.g., autism, aging, mental health, etc.), minimum of two years of experience teaching at the university level, experience conducting and overseeing applied research and mentoring student engagement with research and/or clinical projects.
  • We especially seek candidates who are qualified to teach a variety of courses across different areas in behavior analysis and Psychology (e.g., grad-level courses in Ethics, Skinner’s Theory of Behaviorism, Basic Principles of Behavior, and a breadth of undergrad areas in Psychology), have experience with Behavior Analyst Certification Board credentialing requirements and Association for Behavior Analysis International accreditation policies, and demonstrated, superior ability to teach high-quality courses at the university level.

The Department of Psychology at Florida State University (FSU) has a well-established, nationally recognized, top-ranked Master's Degree program in Psychology with a major in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) that serves students at both the FSU Tallahassee and Panama City campuses. The FSU ABA Master’s program is accredited by the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) and emphasizes a scientist-practitioner model, providing students with the education, training, and supervised clinical experiences required to sit for the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst exam (BCBA) upon graduation. In addition to the ABA Master’s program, FSU also offers a Bachelor's Degree program in Psychology, which includes courses in Clinical, Cognitive, Developmental, and Social Psychology, as well as Neuroscience and Behavior Analysis.
