About the role
The Department of Graduate Psychology at James Madison University (JMU) invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Behavior Analysis concentration within the Psychological Sciences graduate program. The appointment will begin August, 2026. This visiting faculty member will contribute to a nationally recognized applied behavior analysis (ABA) concentration known for its commitment to scientific rigor and exceptional student outcomes. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a program undergoing growth and preparing future leaders in research, teaching, and applied practice.
Duties and responsibilities
- Graduate teaching during the academic year in applied behavior analysis in classroom courses, research, and practicum;
- Contribute to coursework aligned with ABAI standards (e.g., behavior analysis, ethics, assessment, intervention, research methods);
- Support student learning through instruction, mentoring, and engagement;
- Participate in departmental activities and contribute to a collaborative academic environment.
Qualifications
- Have a doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.) in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a closely related field;
- Hold a BCBA or BCBA-D;
- Have experience or demonstrated potential in teaching ABA coursework.
Preferred qualifications
- Show experience or potential in supervision, applied practice, or research;
- Demonstrate interest in program or doctoral-level development.
