Teaching Faculty Fellowship, Counseling Department

Position Summary

William James College announces openings for full-time Teaching Faculty Fellows in the Counseling and Behavioral Health Department beginning August 2026. The Fellowship offers a highly competitive salary and opportunities for career advancement at the College.

Essential Functions

• Taught, advised, and supervised graduate students in the Counseling and Behavioral Health Department.
• Engaged in didactic training on inclusive teaching and learning designs, strength-based pedagogical approaches, and culturally empowering instructional strategies.
• Participated in professional development, scholarly, and program evaluation activities.
• Received faculty and peer mentorship throughout their enrollment in the program.
• May teach generalist foundational courses in the Counseling and Behavioral Health Department.

Education and Experience

• Recent graduates or early career professionals with doctoral degrees in Counselor Education and Supervision, Counseling Psychology, or Clinical Psychology (with a Master’s degree in Counseling).
• Candidates must have earned their degrees within the past 10 years (through August 2026).
• Must have teaching and clinical experience, and be licensed or license-eligible in Massachusetts as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or as a Psychologist/Health Services Provider.
• A demonstrated record of relevant scholarly work is preferred, including community service and engagement, organizational leadership, and innovative and entrepreneurial activities.
• Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment.

Compensation Range

$65,000-$72,000 annually
