Teaching Associate - Languages and Intercultural Studies

About the role

The Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for part-time teaching associates to teach elementary language courses in one or more of the following languages: Arabic, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Candidates must have an MA or a minimum of 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline and be able to demonstrate effective teaching in undergraduate courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach elementary language courses in Arabic, French, German, Italian, or Spanish
• Develop and implement course materials and lesson plans
• Assess student learning through various methods including quizzes, tests, and class participation
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
• Participate in department meetings and professional development activities

Requirements

• A Master's degree or a minimum of 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline
• Experience teaching undergraduate courses
• Ability to demonstrate effective teaching skills
• Knowledge of the target language(s)

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for teaching and working with diverse student populations

Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in the target language(s)
