About the role
The CAEP accredited Spadoni College of Education and Social Sciences at Coastal Carolina University, in Conway, South Carolina invites applications for a part-time temporary Teaching Associate position in Literacy Education beginning January 2027. The department seeks an individual with the credentials to teach one or two sections of undergraduate literacy education courses for preservice teachers. All courses will be face-to-face and must be taught on campus. Coastal Carolina University is a public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, South Carolina, just nine miles from the Atlantic coastal resort city of Myrtle Beach. The university enrolls over 12,000 students from 48 states and 53 nations and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate and master’s degrees, a specialist degree in instructional technology, and PhD degrees in marine science and education sciences. This position is for three vacancies, with a desired start date of January 4, 2027 and an anticipated end date of May 15, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Teach one or two sections of undergraduate literacy education courses for preservice teachers.
- Deliver instruction face-to-face on campus.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in education from an accredited college/school of education.
- 18 graduate credit hours in literacy education from an accredited college/school of education.
- Minimum of three years teaching experience in a kindergarten through third grade classroom in public schools.
- Valid teaching certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
Qualifications
- Completion of LTRS Training (preferred).
