Teaching Assistant (Part-Time)

About the role

This position is a non-exempt, on-site position working 15 hours per week. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 2:30-5:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Affirming children with basic needs such as hygiene, eating, and restroom
• Serving as an assistant to teachers during the daily routine
• Supporting teachers with activities both inside and outside the classroom
• Maintaining classroom organization and efficiency
• Assisting with laundry, cleaning, and disinfecting
• Providing coverage when staff members are on vacation or out due to illness
• Communicating with children and families

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience working with children ages 2-5
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to adhere to Indiana State regulations for licensed childcare centers and Paths to Quality requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Current and maintained certification in CPR and First Aid
• A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
