Duties

• Ability to work with a diverse population of students.
• Support students to ensure a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.
• Implement specialized instruction to students.
• Collaborate with colleagues and assist teacher to meet student learning needs.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders.
• Aid in maintaining record keeping.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Promote equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments.

Job Qualifications

• Only candidates who hold NYS Teaching Assistant certification will be considered.
• Certification is required by the New York State Education Department.
• Essential elements of the position may require specialized knowledge and/or experience in the field and/or trade subject.
• Depending on the course, there may be a requirement of successful completion of specialized training and/or safety certifications.
