Teaching Assistant (Full Year - Long Term Substitute)

Responsibilities

• Provide small and large group instruction, remediation, and support.
• Provide input into the planning process.
• Maintain student records.
• Monitor student progress.

Requirements

• NYS certification: Teaching Assistant or Childhood Education 1-6 and/or SWD 1-6.
• Ability to use Instructional Technology to improve student performance and address professional responsibilities.
• Collaborate with colleagues.
• Ability to be flexible and organized.

Qualifications

• Literacy and/or Special Education certifications preferred.
• Ability to cooperate and collaborate with grade level team, special area teachers and parents.
• Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and/or graduate level.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong work ethic; ability to differentiate instruction to support all learners.
• Experience with iReady math, UFLI, Magnetic Reading and differentiation.
• Ability to use data driven instruction to improve student achievement.
• Experience working with students with disabilities.

Pay

Salary $29,471 per GITA contract.

Schedule

Anticipated work location: Kaegebein Elementary. Hours: 8:35 AM to 3:35 PM. Anticipated employment period: ASAP to June 30, 2027.
