Responsibilities

• Provide instructional services to students under the general supervision of a licensed or certified teacher.
• Support students to ensure a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.
• Implement specialized instruction to students.
• Collaborate with colleagues and assist teacher to meet student learning needs.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders.
• Aid in maintaining record keeping.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Promote equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments.

Requirements

• Must hold NYS Teaching Assistant certification.
• Must meet requirements set by the New York State Education Department.

Qualifications

• Specialized knowledge and/or experience in the field and/or trade subject may be required depending on the course.
• Successful completion of specialized training and/or safety certifications may be required depending on the course.

Skills

Ability to work with a diverse population of students.
