About the role
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant (TA) who will support the success of the class and students by providing students with additional academic support in a professional manner. The TA assists students in understanding content by using various teaching/tutoring strategies and must be available to provide extra assistance to individual students as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist in grading homework, quizzes, and exams in the online section of the course.
- Monitor online discussion boards, conduct online course communication with students, and assist during synchronous discussions.
- Prepare the course site prior to the start of the course, including assignment descriptions and deadlines, grade book calculations, group and class discussion forums, student resources, practice exams, and mid-term course evaluations.
- Require the student to outline a teaching module for future online teaching assistants, including documents for preparing new teaching assistants, troubleshooting tips, and information on fostering a productive working relationship with a professor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or graduation equivalent. Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Education or a related field.

Pay
Starting hourly salary range: $20.25 - $36.25 (commensurate with experience).
Schedule
