The Lake Shore Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for the following position: Teaching Assistant / Behavior Specialist Support @ Districtwide Reports to: Building Principal / Director of Pupil Personnel Services Certification: NYS Certification in Any Area Salary: Per the LSCTA Contract Start Date: 2026-27 School Year Applicants must upload all required documents through SchoolSpring when applying, as the district does not accept paper copies via email, fax, or mail. We are seeking dedicated and student-centered Teaching Assistants who demonstrate a strong commitment to collaboration, inclusive practices, and high-quality instruction. The ideal candidates bring meaningful experience working with diverse learners. These educators value teamwork and work effectively with teachers, related service providers, families, and support staff to ensure cohesive programming and consistent student support. Strong knowledge of executive functioning skills-such as organization, self-regulation, time management, and goal-setting-is essential, along with the ability to explicitly teach and embed these skills into daily instruction. We are looking for reflective practitioners who build positive relationships with students, maintains high expectations, uses data to inform instruction, and fosters an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. This Teaching Assistant provides support and interventions to targeted students to increase responsible behavior and reduce negative behavior including but not limited to small group and one-on-one interventions, as well as documents, maintains, and discusses data with students, teachers, administrators, parents, and others to determine the impact of the interventions. This Teaching Assistant provides leadership and direction at the school and district level, working to design, implement, coordinate and evaluate a comprehensive behavior program and social-emotional support. While this position is listed as district-wide, the teaching assistant shall have a home base would be called upon to assist other buildings.
