Teaching and Learning Manager
About the Role
The Manager of Teaching and Learning provides leadership and strategic vision in managing, coordinating, developing, implementing, and evaluating the college's academic development needs. This role ensures faculty, staff, and administrators have the instructional skills, materials, and background knowledge to achieve student success.
The Manager leads professional development activities for full-time and adjunct faculty, including excellence in teaching, the scholarship of teaching and learning, and building inclusive learning environments that honor each learner's identity. Additional responsibilities include credential review, coordinating the performance review cycle with division administrators, and providing onboarding programming and support for all new faculty.
This position promotes a collaborative, team-based approach with faculty, academic administrators, and Academic Excellence to ensure quality in teaching and learning and achieve Key Results. The role also works to advance educational justice within the division and the larger academic institution.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and strategic vision for academic development initiatives.
- Manage, coordinate, develop, implement, and evaluate programs to enhance instructional skills and materials for faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Lead professional development activities for full-time and adjunct faculty, focusing on excellence in teaching, the scholarship of teaching and learning, and inclusive learning environments.
- Conduct credential reviews for faculty.
- Coordinate the performance review cycle with division administrators.
- Develop and deliver onboarding programming and support for all new faculty.
