Teachers Assistant

About the role

Cumberland Valley School District is recruiting for a full‑time Teacher’s Assistant position (7.5 hours per day). The role involves supporting educators in the day‑to‑day functions of an assigned area within the educational team and filling absences within the assigned building, with all duties coordinated and directed by a PA‑certified professional staff member.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating large group instruction and activities from provided plans for students.
• Providing one‑to‑one or small group reinforcement of skills for students.
• Assisting students with notetaking, test preparation, and assignment organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Completion of thirty (30) hours of training annually to maintain Highly Qualified Status and continued professional development.
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods, bend, stretch, and lift up to 40 pounds; corrected hearing and vision within normal ranges.
• Ability to obtain and submit the following clearances (if hired): Criminal Record Check (< 1 year), PA Child Abuse History Clearance (< 1 year), FBI Fingerprint Clearance (< 1 year), TB Test/Mantoux (< 3 months), and a physical examination (< 1 year) if applicable.

Schedule

Full‑time position, 7.5 hours per day.
