Teacher’s Aide

Daily Responsibilities

  • Adapting to the needs of all children in the classroom
  • Building lasting relationships and connections with children and families
  • Actively engaging with all children by getting down on their level and having fun
  • Loving and enjoying all of the children while in your care
  • Being respectful and creating partnerships with your co-workers, must possess a strong ability to have positive and open communication with co-workers
  • Maintaining a clean and safe learning environment for the children; this includes cleaning responsibilities throughout the day
  • Flexibility to understand every day will have its moments!
  • Maintaining a consistent daily routine, including mealtimes, physical play, nap period, and exploration of all things child care!
  • Encouraging age appropriate learning and experiences
  • Promoting the wellbeing of children and their families
  • Actively engaging and monitoring children while inside and outside; their safety is number one!
  • Participating in lessons and activities throughout the day and afternoon
  • Getting down on the children’s level; interacting with intention
  • Singing songs, playing games, reading books; building from the children’s knowledge and skills
  • Engaging children in positive, productive activities that support their learning and development
  • Providing quality, nurturing care to all children enrolled in the program
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff
  • Absolutely assisting in conflict management between children in the classroom; teaching the children skills that they are missing
  • Absolutely assisting the Lead Teacher with both long- and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practices, and program philosophy
  • Absolutely assisting the Lead Teacher to arrange the classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy
  • Absolutely assisting children throughout the daily routine; providing extra assistance while in the bathroom, transition times, and during meal times
  • Absolutely completing cleaning duty tasks
  • Absolutely filling out and maintaining daily roster, daily reports, accident/incident forms, medication logs, behavior documentation
  • Staying current with all required training including CPR, First Aid, SUIDS, AHT.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Valid CPR and First Aid certification

Ability to pass a background check

Experience working with children preferred but not required

Qualifications

Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical stamina and flexibility

Knowledge of child development and safety practices

$12.50 per hour

Schedule

Monday through Friday: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
