Teacher Youth Recovery Center

About the Role

Join Valley View's Youth Recovery Center as a full-time, day-shift teacher. This position provides clients the opportunity to continue individual education progress while in treatment. You must be capable of utilizing a variety of education and treatment approaches to work with adolescents and assess level of risk to make appropriate clinical judgment for resolution of client emergencies, resulting in a safe outcome.

Qualifications

• Master’s level degree and current Colorado teaching certificate
• Special Education Endorsement Certification
• Certified Addiction Counselor is preferred or actively working towards obtaining within an agreed time frame
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Five years of successful classroom teaching experience required
• Group counseling experience preferred

Skills

• Able to assess level of risk and make appropriate clinical judgment for resolution of client emergencies, resulting in a safe outcome
• Working knowledge of individual, group, family, and crisis treatment approaches and their application to clients with emotional, behavioral, and/or substance abuse problems

Pay

$33.99 to $49.98/hour. Entry salary dependent upon education, skill-set, and experience.
