About the role
This position involves planning and implementing an instructional program in Career Technology Education (CTE) and providing related educational services in a high school setting. The role includes managing student behavior, assessing and evaluating student achievement, and modifying instructional activities as needed.
Responsibilities
- Manages student behavior and classroom management
- Assesses and evaluates student achievement
- Plans and implements appropriate instructional/learning strategies
- Coordinates instructional activities and collaborates with other professional staff
- Provides instruction in kitchen management and food service industry skills
- Develops, adapts, modifies, and individualizes educational materials
- Ensures continuous communication with parents and students
- Maintains accurate and complete student records
- Supervises classroom activities and laboratory experiences
- Enforces all administration policies and rules
- Supports or participates in school-wide student activities and social events
- Makes school site visits to monitor students or confer with employers or site instructors
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Career and Technology Education or in the career area to be taught
- Associate's Degree in the career area to be taught and 2 years of occupational experience in the career area to be taught
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of occupational experience in the career area to be taught
- Three to five years of culinary or baking operation and/or other industry-related work experience
- Experience in one or more of the major areas of food prep and NRAEF program certification with an emphasis on multiple area skill sets
Qualifications
- Candidates will be required to complete eligibility requirements for license in Professional and Technical Education by the Maryland State Department of Education
- Possession of or eligibility for Certification in ServSafe®
- Possession of or eligibility for Certified Fundamentals Cook (CFC) certification, and or Certified Fundamentals Pastry Cook (CFPC) certification

Benefits

Pay
Maximum Salary: $118,411.00
Minimum Salary: $60,662.00
