Teacher Upward Bound

About the role

Taught at Upward Bound participants in their designated subject areas during the six-week Summer Instructional Component.

Responsibilities

• Develop curriculum and select instructional materials for one of these academic courses (Science, Math, English, or Latin).
• Design and conduct pre and post-test in subject area.
• Create lesson plans for six weeks of summer instruction.
• Create supply list to be purchased by UB.
• Complete student evaluations.
• Possess the ability and experience to work with and motivate low income/first generation students.
• Absorb and implement new policies and procedures as they are implemented.
• Absorb and implement new technology as it is introduced.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the director.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Teaching Certificate in content area.
• 2-3 years of instructional experience in secondary and/or post-secondary.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information, give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately.
• Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to a multicultural environment in an effort to work and communicate effectively with all students, faculty, staff and community partners.
• Demonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to: office computers, fax machines, scanners, internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior.

Skills, Proficiencies, And/or Knowledge

• Ability to work with and motivate low income/first generation students.
• Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU-OKC and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism.

$31.00 - $34.00 Hourly

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends. As assigned by supervisor.
