About the role

The Somerville YMCA is seeking Teachers for its NEW Universal Preschool classrooms. The position is part of a dynamic team dedicated to fostering a nurturing and educational environment for young children.

Responsibilities

• Execute a structured, engaging, and positive school day curriculum
• Prepare students for kindergarten readiness
• Manage daily classroom routines
• Ensure necessary skills are taught and learned
• Work hours: 8:15am - 2:15pm with a 30-minute lunch break and prep time

Requirements

• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Bachelor's Degree in Education, or relevant combination of formal education
• NJDOE Teaching Certificate required
• Relevant child care experience with infants, toddlers, or pre-school aged children
• Positive and clear communication skills, especially in parent interactions
• Classroom management skills
• Ability to plan and implement curriculum independently
• Self-sufficiency and independence in managing the classroom

Qualifications
