TEACHER, SHORT TERM SUBSTITUTE - PARAPROFESSIONAL (ECE/SPED)

About the role

A substitute Early Childhood Paraprofessional or substitute Special Education Paraprofessional fills in for school's ECE or Special Education Paraprofessionals that are away from the classroom. Substitute Paraprofessionals assist the classroom teacher with managing the classroom and maintaining a productive learning environment. Substitute Early Childhood Paraprofessionals adapt to early childhood students, while Substitute Special Education Paraprofessionals support students in Special Education classrooms in K-12 grades. All substitute teachers are requested to work a minimum of seven assignments a month.

Pay

  • Substitute Early Childhood Paraprofessional: $22.125 per hour (requires High School Diploma or GED)
  • Substitute Special Education Paraprofessional: $23.178 per hour (requires High School Diploma or GED and 48 hours of College Credits or passing score on EDReady Math and Reading test)

Responsibilities

  • Organize students for effective instruction and learning while supporting the classroom teacher and helping foster a safe and positive environment for all students
  • Motivate student learning and academic participation while ensuring the integrity of academic time
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Substitute Early Childhood Paraprofessional: High School Diploma or GED
  • Substitute Special Education Paraprofessional: High School Diploma or GED and 48 hours of College Credits or passing score on EDReady Math and Reading test
  • Commitment to lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community
  • Belief in and support of all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education
  • Permanent home address in Colorado
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations
