TEACHER, SECONDARY (MIDDLE) - STEM/SCIENCE, 6TH-8TH GRADE
About the role
Teaches specific grade level subject matter to diverse middle school student population following District standards-based curriculum. Helps all students develop competence and confidence simultaneously through a balance of acquiring basic skills and developing conceptual understanding.
Responsibilities
- Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
- Maintains discipline and monitors student behavior.
- Evaluates student performance and provides feedback.
- Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials.
- Prepares lesson plans and materials.
- Administers and grades tests and assignments.
- Communicates with parents and guardians about student progress.
- Participates in extra-duty activities as outlined in the Teachers' Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required.
- A Master's Degree is only required for Concurrent Enrollment positions.
- Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
