About the role
The Science Teacher is a cornerstone of Lawrence Public Schools. Your expertise will enrich the academic lives of students at Arlington Elementary School. The ideal candidate believes all students are capable of learning and enjoys collaborating with a strong grade-level team. Experience with multilingual learners and inclusion practices, including collaborative planning, is recommended.
Responsibilities
- Create academically rigorous lesson plans, materials, and assessments using the KnowAtom curriculum and the Massachusetts STE Frameworks
- Incorporate technology into lesson activities
- Oversee one homeroom class and one advisory class
- Maintain homeroom cumulative folders
- Participate in grade-level and content vertical planning meetings
- Attend IEP, 504, student support, and team meetings
- Participate in curriculum night, report card night(s), and building meetings to support instructional delivery and student needs
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Guidance, Human Services, School Psychology, or Social Work
- Massachusetts Certification as a School Counselor, School Adjustment Counselor, Guidance Counselor, School Social Worker, or School Psychologist
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in counseling, education, guidance, or social work
- Experience working with school-age children using a developmental model (individual, small group, and large group settings)
Skills
- Experience collaborating with social service agencies
- Strong facilitation and communication skills
- Proficient in English
- Bilingual candidates preferred
- Experience with at-risk youth
Pay
$61,788 – $94,614
